  Soyeon Ahn is primarily interested in meta-analysis, but wants to apply certain measurement issues to meta-analysis research.  She currently focuses on developing an instrument to assess study quality in research syntheses.  However, she has great interest and seeks challenges in a number of diverse fields.  Besides academics, she works out in the gym everyday.  Don't be surprised if you see her ripped biceps!!!

• Chard, Linda

  Linda Chard is a former school administrator and secondary math teacher.  She particularly enjoys doing instrument construction and data analysis utilizing the Rasch model.  When shešs not attending MSU, she enjoys golf, playing the piano, and a host of art-related projects.  She has two daughters, Kristen and Erica, both of whom are MSU Spartans.

  Qi Chen is glad to be a student again after years of being a college teacher in China. She is interested in measurement methods and test design. And she enjoys spending time with her little daughter.

• Devaney, Sarah
  Email: Sarah Devaney

  Sarah Devaney is a part-time student in the program. She is interested in studying classroom assessment, professional development for teachers, instrument construction, and survey methodology. She works full-time at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as a research assistant in the Assessment Services Department. Outside of school and work, her personal interests include birding, gardening, nature walks with her husband, and cooking. She also volunteers as a wildlife rehabilitator.

  Samuel Drake is interested in mathematics achievement (particularly at the college level).  He has done previous research in DIF analysis. In his free time, he enjoys bowling, raquetball, and watching his collection of martial arts films.
